Mammut - Silo Roller for Feed Compaction
The Mammut Silo Roller is designed to rapidly compact distributed feed, ensuring optimal depth effect and improving the efficiency of the harvest chain. It enhances feed quality by reducing air inclusions, thus minimizing the risks of fermentation errors or mold. The uniform compaction promotes better lactic acid fermentation and increases the palatability of basic feed. The roller’s 940 mm diameter and 200 mm high discs provide intensive compaction, and their 195 mm spacing ensures consistent performance. The frame and roller can be filled with additional ballast, allowing customization of the total weight to match various tractor sizes. Hydraulic side shift enables the roller to move 500 mm left or right for safe and comfortable operation, particularly along edges and silo walls. The side-mounted rollers protect the silo walls, reducing wear and tear. This machine comes with a one-year warranty, ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction.Mammut offer an array of feeding and silaging technology as well as the concrete mixers which we have been selling for over the last 20 years. Whether mixing animal feed or concrete, we continually received strong customer feedback about the quality, reliability and convenience of these machines, so we knew that Mammut was a brand that we could trust.
More recently, we have begun to stock Mammut’s silaging technology, again it is well made, innovative equipment and we believe there are real feed efficiency benefits that can be gained from products like the Silo Kompakt.
Powerful feed harvesters are filling large loading and push-off wagons at ever-increasing speed. The logistics chain is therefore becoming increasingly time-critical. In order to ensure that careful compaction takes place, suitable tools must be used for silage compaction.
The MAMMUT SILO KOMPAKT silage roller provides rapid compaction of the distributed feed with an optimal depth effect. This not only increases the efficiency in the harvest chain, but also ensures the quality of the feed and the associated economic success.
Frame hydraulically adjustable 500mm on left and right, CAT II/III/IIII three-point linkage, roller and frame can be filled for additional ballast, lateral rollers for protection.
Feed Quality
The better the individual layers of silage are compacted; the fewer air inclusions can form and the lower the risk of incorrect fermentation or mould. Efficient rolling technology provides ideal conditions for optimal lactic acid fermentation and significantly increases the palatability of the basic feed. Intensive compaction also promotes stability during fermentation with maize silage.
Homogenous Compaction
The distributed feed is compacted quickly and effectively with the SILO KOMPAKT silage roller. The diameter of the roller is 940 mm – the 200 mm high discs create a point load and therefore a uniform depth effect of pressure as far as the lower area of the distributed feed layer. The distance between the discs is approx. 195 mm and guarantees consistent compaction work without feed accumulation in the gaps. Notches directly on the edge of the disc allow the feed to slide off again perfectly, and prevent it from gathering along the edges.
Flexibility
For an additional increase in the total weight, it is possible to fill the massive headstock with water, sand or gravel – this also allows the weight of the silage roller to be optimally adapted to a wide range of tractor sizes. The use of the SILO KOMPAKT silage roller makes the tractor driver’s job considerably easier, since the feed is compacted over the entire track width of the roller, and the compaction time is significantly reduced. The rollers mounted on the side of the frame protect the silo wall.
Hydraulic Side Shift
The roller can be conveniently moved 500 mm to the right or left with a hydraulic cylinder. This enables safe and comfortable work, particularly at on the edges and the silo walls, since the towing vehicle no longer has to be driven to the outermost edge.
