Don and Joyce Hershey started Hershey Equipment Company (HEC) in 1964 from their home in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, as a service to local farmers who needed technical advice, service, and installation of their equipment. Less than 10 years later, HEC was also offering sales of poultry equipment and turnkey construction, fast becoming a distinguished leader in servicing the needs of farmers.

By the mid 1980s,

HEC added lines of equipment for grain handling and feed mill processing and expanded their territory into neighboring states. At the same time, the Hersheys’ daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Mike Dickson, came to work in the family business.

Always a forward thinking company, focused on innovation and providing what the industry needs, Hershey Equipment has continued to expand its product line over the years, adding new equipment and technologies,

always looking ahead to the next challenge in the industry.

Today, Hershey Equipment continues to serve the needs of the farming community across the New England, Mid-Atlantic, Southern, Central and Mid-Western states, while utilizing their expertise to meet the growing demands of micro breweries, gas drilling operations and alternative energy producers.

Still rooted in family tradition, Mike and Doreen Dickson`s sons, Bradley and Jeffrey, are currently interning in various departments, poised to meet the challenges of the next generation, while Doreen`s mother Joyce Hershey continues to serve as corporate secretary and one of the board of directors.

With over 65 employees including designers, project managers, installation crews and service technicians,

Hershey Equipment is staffed to handle large or small projects with ease.

The company also operates its own custom fabrication shop, a fleet of 35 trucks and a 10,000 square foot parts facility to provide the best service to customers.
