The history of CPM dates back to 1883 in California`s Napa Valley when the California Pellet Mill Company manufactured presses, crushers and stemmers for winemakers. In 1931, the company revolutionised the feed processing industry with the introduction of the first commercially successful pellet mill. A few years later, in 1938, the Roskamp story began when John Roskamp formed the Roskamp Huller Company. Roskamp invented and sold the first commercially sized oat huller to the feed milling industry.

In the 1980`s, Roskamp Champion was born with the purchase of Roskamp Roller Mill Company and Champion Hammer mills. This addition positioned CPM to become a leader in particle size reduction. In 2002, CPM purchased Beta Raven of St. Charles, Missouri, USA, a leading supplier of computerized process controls and ingredient scaling systems. Beta Raven is a leading supplier to the feed milling industry, but also sells automation and control systems to the bakery, tortilla, and premix industries.

In 2006, CPM the world`s leading equipment provider for particle size reduction and pellet agglomeration, announces the acquisition of Century Extrusion, from Century, Inc. of Traverse City, Mich. The acquisition adds Century Extrusion`s industry leading extrusion equipment and parts to the CPM product line. CPM has production capabilities covering the world. World headquarters are located in Waterloo, Iowa, beside our Roskamp Champion production facilities.

In Asia, CPM recently relocated and expanded its Singapore and Wuxi, China production facilities. With over US$3.5 million dollars invested, the new state-of-the-art facilities allow CPM to continue to meet the demand for its products in the growing Asian animal feeds and oilseed processing markets.

CPM also operates plants in Crawfordsville, Indiana; Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands. CPM is owned by Gilbert Global Equity Partners. This strategic and financial partnership has enabled CPM to grow organically and by acquisition to better serve our customers by offering premier equipment with the lowest total operating cost.
