Rotem - Model Pro - Platinum Controllers System for Large Dairy Farms

Rotem`s Platinum Pro Controllers is a modular farm management and control system enables farmers to administer large operations from a single controller. The Platinum Pro manages all aspects of a poultry, swine, or dairy farm (climate control, lighting, feed and water, weighing, and ventilation). Platinum Pro`s unique hardware capabilities combined with the HUB greatly extends this control in a low cost manner.

How? Rotem`s HUB is a hardware device used to connect remote devices to the Platinum Pro in a star configuration. Up to four daisy chains, each consisting of any combination of Platinum Expansion, RDT-5 Digital Thermostats, and RSU-2 Remote Scale Units can be created. In addition, the Platinum Pro supports analog and digital input/output devices in the Extension units. This combination enables the creation of a large network with minimal capital expenditures. The following figure illustrates an example setup.

Platinum Pro Controllers feature Rotem’s Precision Ventilation technology, an innovative technology that has revolutionized poultry and swine house ventilation worldwide. Precision Ventilation features Dynamic Cruise Control, which automatically adjusts the ventilation system according to the changes in temperature, humidity and static pressure. The system takes into consideration the wind chill factor, fan air capacity, minimum required ventilation according to bird weight, and the temperature differential between the two ends of the house. In doing so the Platinum provides:

  • Optimal target temperature, humidity and CO2
  • Optimal air conditioning; reduced humidity & ammonia levels
  • Reduced heating & ventilation costs 

User Friendly

Using a Platinum Pro is simple.The units feature a large LCD graphic display, and on-screen help and graphs. A Windows-based software package can be installed on any PC, enabling remote monitoring and control over the unit.

Functionality

A Platinum Pro provides the grower with a large variety of functionality:

  • Digital inputs provide data on the feed count , water meter, feeder overtime, auxiliary alarm
  • 0 to 10 volt analog outputs enable control over light dimmers and variable speed fans
  • Growers wanting to control their feeding operations as well as collect the data needed to properly analyze their operations can connect the controller to bird, feed and silo scales.
  • Full control via a PC (both locally and remotely) is possible by installing a communication card and by connecting the Controller to a communication device

Backup Systems

Platinum Pro`s Vent/Curtain Relay & Switch Card provides an extra margin of safety for vents and curtain opening. Users wanting extra protection can install an RBU Backup Unit.

Platinum Pro comes in two models:

  • Platinum Pro 50 relays (P/N: 900-06-XXXXXX)
  • Platinum Pro 30 relays (P/N: 900-12-XXXXXX)

As an option, the Platinum Pro Panel Mount edition can be installed directly into an electrical cabinet. This capability reduces costs for farmers wanting to install their controllers in this manner.

HUB and RSU-2 HUB-4

Rotem`s HUB-4 enables connecting remote devices to a Platinum Pro in a star configuration. Each Platinum Pro supports one HUB unit, which in turn supports up to four daisy chains.

HUB-4 supports up to four chains, each chain having up to 32 remotes (128 total).

RSU-2

Rotem`s Remote Scale Unit (RSU-2) enables remote scale/silo weighing and calibration, managed via the Platinum Pro. Each Platinum Pro supports two RSU-2 units; each RSU-2 supports two weighing devices (when employing a HUB, a larger number of RSU-2 units can be installed).
