Van-Den-Elzen - Plug Plants
Plug plants are grown from a raspberry cutting. This cutting is made from high quality own checked and tested mother material. The cuttings are cut from mid-March to mid-June from the mother bed. The cuttings are manually cut to a length of 4-5 cm and immediately freshly propagated on a paper plug in a warm greenhouse. The plants are graded once or twice to create a uniform end product. Depending on the season, the plants grow out in 4-6 weeks into a rooted uniform raspberry plug plant. This raspberry plug plant is delivered in the tray in a box.
Van den Elzen Plants produces plug plants as well as longcanes of various raspberry varieties. The plug plants are produced from our own mother blocks in specially prepared greenhouses. The production of longcanes takes place on more than 175 hectares of cultivation area on specially designed fields. The fields are located within a radius of 50 kilometers and the varieties are spread over these fields for the purpose of risk spreading.
Van den Elzen Plants produces longcanes of both summer- and autumn raspberries. The varieties we produce include Vajolet, Lagorai, Majestic, Endurance, Glen Ample and Tulameen and club varieties Diamond Jubilee and Sapphire.
