The V12 Silage Barrierefolie, comprising the V12 Silver Cover and V12 Green Line variants, marks a significant advancement in agricultural silage protection. Constructed with 11 layers, these films offer exceptional strength, flexibility, and gas impermeability, setting a new standard in the industry. The integration of a specialized EVOH layer facilitates an oxygen permeability enhancement by a factor of 200, effectively reducing oxygen influence on silage to a hundredth of its original level. This results in better protection of the fodder and minimized nutrient loss. Unique to the V12 Silage Barrierefolie is the extended UV stability of at least 20 months, compared to the conventional 12 months, ensuring prolonged protection against UV rays. The films are engineered from PE and EVOH materials, making them recyclable and environmentally friendly without using regenerated materials—a crucial innovation in sustainable agricultural practices. Additionally, the films eliminate the need for an underlay, optimizing time efficiency during installation in large silo and biogas facilities. Despite their 80 to 100 micrometers thickness, they offer unprecedented widths of up to 80 meters while maintaining a lightweight structure that conforms seamlessly to silage mass.
Conventional silage films have an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of approximately 200-250 cm³/m²/24h. Thanks to the special EVOH layer, V12 exceeds this value by a factor of 200 (< 0.5 cm³/m²/24h). V12 reduces the oxygen impact on your silage by a hundredth. This better protects the forage and reduces nutrient losses.
