BW Implement - Solid Mulchers for Orchards and Sod Farms
B.W. Implement Orchard Mulchers will incorporate wood chips and all organic matter back into the soil and make those pruning chips disappear. At the same time it can eliminate unnecessary passes through the orchard by taking out cracks wheel ruts and other irregularities left during the course of the years. Adjustable to 1″ to 5″ working depth. Available up to 15 foot widths designed and manufactured Dirt Smart for tough west coast conditions.
Orchard Mulchers are ideal for tilling in weeds and smoothing out wheel ruts in orchards. Tilling breaks up the hard soil to increase water penetration. The large 20″ diameter rear roller then slightly compacts and smooths out the orchard floor. An important application for this muicher is to bury wood chips by tilling 1 to 5 inches deep. The wood chips will decompose at a faster rate and the rolled-out orchard floor is then in better condition for the harvesters. ‘The University of California Cooperative Extension recommends keeping woods chips and shredding in the orchards. They also stated that if well managed, prunings can become a source of organic matter and nutrients in the soil. These heavy-duty mulchers are available in several different widths.
Solid Mulchers: Extra heavy duty solid rotor mulcher for mulching on the flat to a depth of 5″. They include a heavy duty 5″ pipe rotor, 3″ x 6″ chrome-faced teeth, UHMW plastic lined hood, 20″ rear roller with scraper and gauge wheels for depth control.
