Aquaintech -Â Model PRO4000X - Tableted Mixture for Aquatic Systems
A tableted mixture of powerful strains selected for their ability to degrade organic material. Each tablet contains approximately 4 billion CFU of spores per gram total of Bacillus subtilis and B. licheniformis spores. These bacteria degrade organic matter, ammonia, and compete against other bacterial species. Tablets come in multiple sizes (135 mg, 1 gm, 3 gm, 5 gm, 16gm) and we offer private label as well. They can all be added to ponds, lakes, golf course lakes, koi ponds, shrimp ponds, fish ponds, and shrimp and fish hatchery tanks where they dissolve and the bacteria germinate and grow.Controlling vibrio loads in the environment is a daunting task. As an intricate part of stable ecosystems, they belong there and attempts to eradicate them as a whole, while desirable in many instances has the potential for allowing other bacteria to proliferate that can also infect animals opportunistically. Management of the microbiome is still in its infancy and claims to the contrary are simply not true.
The Bacillus species in our products compete against vibrio species (and other heterotrophic bacteria) for nutrients. Selected strains of Bacillus produce high levels of enzymes that allow them to degrade a variety of substrates including, critically, the accumulating organic matter that vibrios thrive on. Incidentally this is the mechanism by which blue green algae (actually photosynthetic bacteria) are inhibited as well.
Numerous field results on farms and hatcheries coupled with our clients' experiences have proven that PRO4000X has potent impacts on the overall vibrio loads and blue green algal growth.

The founder of AITI, Stephen G. Newman has a Ph.D. in marine microbiology (from the University of Miami) and a BSc. in Conservation and Resource Development (from the University of Maryland). From 1979 to the early 1990s he developed and commercialized some of the first vaccines for farmed salmonids.
Early in 1992, utilizing his knowledge of aquaculture and sustainability acquired decades before most people were aware of the term, he set out to offer PRO4000X and other high quality products and support services for the US and international fish and shrimp farming communities. PRO4000X has satisifed hundreds of customers in dozens of customers and continues to help farmers understand how to be truly sustainable.
