During the first period of the cooperation, different prototypes were developed and successfully equipped for the first time in a plant from Italy, where engineers started a long period of evaluation and calibration with different types of products. Originally the research program was independent.

In those years ohmic heating was an embryonic technology. Sharing information between research centers was pretty difficult. Also, there was no public information available.

However, major companies were exploring this innovative process in the same period.
The research gave initially good results on empiric tests and the technology, despite being on a first level, looked promising.

The main topic was and still is the industrialization of the process, and the reliability of the equipped hardware.
