Hog Slat Evap Systems Video
Hog Slat Evaporative Cooling Systems provide hog and poultry producers with the ultimate in effective, low-maintenance design. It starts with corrosion proof, UV stabilized PVC trough. The square bottom features several advantages over round trough systems. The square bottom design holds 24% more water than 8' round pipe per foot. This extra capacity means more water is in the system during extra hot weather. The flat bottom also allows the trough to be placed directly on a concrete base, eliminating the need for support brackets. The Snap on PCV cover with large diamond cuts increases drainage area to permit faster water recycling and extends pad life by eliminating water pooling at the bottom. For those installations requiring trough brackets, our double leg bracket provides extra support compared to single leg brackets found on competitive brands. The Evap System features an open-top design for easy access to inspect and clean to the spray bar. The top is secured with tri-knob fasteners for easy removal. The large capacity spray bar with bell end connector eliminates dead spots on the pads common with coupled pipes. All our Evaporative Systems feature heavy duty H2PAD constructed from heavy virgin craft paper with acrylic resins oven baked in three separate processes. The 3/4' ProTech edging increases pad life from UV damage. Hog Slat systems come with your choice of Jet Pump or Submersible Pump. The Hog Slat jet pump installs completely above ground for easier maintenance and installation. Jet Pumps systems offer a closed system that eliminates the need for an underground sump. Its higher flow rate does a superior job wetting the pad during critical cooling periods. It is a self-priming pump with a large capacity trash basket to protect from debris. Winter time maintenance is simplified, just remove the drain plug and leave it in place. For systems using a submersible pump, Hog Slat offers and pump specifically designed for cool cell applications. Its Vortex Impeller results in lower head pressure and higher volume to provide greater pad saturation. The Hog Slat sump tank features an anti-float lip on the bottom to help keep the tank in the ground during periods of wet weather. The sump tank can be buried in the ground or installation on top. The Hog Slat Evap System offers and wide range of options including end feeding systems, center fed system and dual systems fed from each end.
