HYDRAC was founded in 1966 by Josef Puehringer sen. when he was 27 years old. In the same year, together with 4 employees he started to produce the new kind of detachable HYDRAC front end loaders. In a very short time his idea to make the front end loaders easily detachable became an international hit.

Even today HYDRAC is having a world-wide unique automatic front end loader locking system. This so called "Auto-Lock" System enables the farmer to de- or attach the front loader within just 10 seconds.

In Austria HYDRAC is market leader with Front End Loaders, Front Power Take Offs (FTPOs) and Front linkages. The main export markets are Germany, Switzerland, France and England. In Germany HYDRAC runs an own distribution office. All the other countries are served by distributors.

Already in 1978 HYDRAC started to develop Front Power Take Offs and Front Linkages which proved to be a marketing hit more and more. This 34 year-experience is the basis for HYDRAC`s leading position in this section all over the world today. Famous tractor manfacturing companies rely on the quality and reliability of HYDRAC products and recommend them for use with their machinery or supply their products with HYDRAC implements mounted directly from their production lines.

HYDRAC is especially concentrating on the best design and reliability of its products. An own department is doing only Research and Development - also for third parties. HYDRAC is annually spendung more than € 0,6 mio for research and evelopment.

More than 46 years of experience in Research and Development, design and construction, permanent innovation and the use of state of the art EDP and CAD/CAM technology are ensuring the leading position. A quality control system following to ISO 9001 provides best quality and production efficiency.

Today HYDRAC is known as a high-tech production Facility for Agricultural- and Municipal equipment with around 130 employees. More than 6 500 machines are annually produced. HYDRAC is very keen on the permanent education and a high sense of responsibility of its employees who are the basis for the permanent progress.

The HYDRAC production facilities in Upper Austria - the heart of Austria`s main industrial region - have been expanded several times within the last years. Latest CNC machines and robots ensure an economic production.In 1996 HYDRAC started the complete reconstruction of the whole production facility. This € 2,9 Mio investment was finished in 2001 and provides best internal logistics and capacities.
