The Typhoon feed cannon range has been designed to satisfy the need for simple reliable machines to blow fish feed from a workboat direct into the pen. Typhoon feed cannons are available in a wide choice of sizes and configurations to cater for the majority of farm requirements. Standardisation of design means that all Typhoon feeders use the same engine, transmission and blower combination. Models with metered feed delivery use the same rotary feed valve and motor assembly. The materials used to build Typhoon feed cannons are corrosion resistant, either aluminium alloy or stainless steel.

The Minimort is the smallest in our range of machines designed to turn dead fish into neutral odour silage. The Minimort has a 300 litre stainless steel tank and shaft-driven cutter powered by a 2kW three phase motor. A contactor with built-in motor protection overload is mounted on a bracket on the top. The ensiler is designed to sit either on a small pallet or a sturdy stand.

Built into the top is a powerful 4kW motor driving the cutter shaft which is supported on two stainless steel ball bearings. The cutter sits close to the bottom of the tank, and acts both as a macerator and mixer. At the front, on top, is the hatch for the morts. An interlocking cut-out switch is mounted beside the hatch and is actuated by the hatch cover, preventing the motor being started unless the cover is shut properly. The starter for the cutter motor is mounted on a bracket next to the hatch. A 3” valved outlet is at the back of the tank and terminates with a 3” BSP male threaded fitting.

Morts are never welcome and handling them is an unpleasant chore, so you need an ensiler that allows you to handle a tote bin full in one go, without fuss. The NORFAB SUPERMORT does it. Once the morts are in the bin, it’s all over, nobody touches them again. Quick – clean – easy.

Best housed in a shelter to keep the worst of the weather at bay, the panels are custom built in Fort William by top class industrial electrical engineers. Acid dosing pump delivers accurately measured ‘shots’ of acid to the ensiler to suit the volume of morts being treated
