C.F. Nielsen - Straw Handling Equipment for Briquetting Processes
Kinetic Biofuel offers a comprehensive range of straw handling equipment designed to integrate seamlessly with briquetting systems. The process begins with straw bales being placed onto bale conveyors that transport them to a shredder, reducing the straw into pieces between 50-150 mm. Subsequent processing steps include a stone trap for removing large impurities, feeding into a hammer mill that further reduces particle size to 10-20 mm, followed by separation of sand in a screw conveyor just before storage in a dosing silo. Equipped with automated level sensors, the system signals the briquetting press to start and stop based on the straw levels to ensure efficient operation. This sequence maximizes the consistency and quality of straw feedstock for briquetting. The equipment capitalizes on C.F. Nielsen's extensive expertise in briquetting, ensuring reliability and optimal performance for biomass preparation.
Kinetic Biofuel offers a range of straw handling equipment aligned with the briquetting equipment.
The straw handling consists of the shown main components:
Straw preparation plant
The straw bales are placed on the bale conveyors, which conveys the straw bales to the shredder, where the straw is cut into lengths of 50-150 mm. After the shredder stones and other larger particles are removed in the stone trap. The straw then enters into the special hammer mill, where it is reduced to 10-20 mm long particles before entering the buffer silo through a cyclone/filter. Sand is also removed in the screw conveyor just before the dosing silo.
Silo and dosing system
Level sensors in the silo or the buffer system sends a signal to the control system for automatic start of the briquetting press, when a sufficient level of straw in the silo has been reached. Signals from the level sensors will stop and start the transport line and the shredder automatically, in order to maintain sufficient level of straw in the silo. The entire system is automatically shut down if/when the transport line is empty.
