The professional manure belt system for successful pullet rearing. The UNIVENT Starter rearing system from Big Dutchman is a true bestseller. This well-proven system not only provides excellent rearing results, but is also of a high quality. To meet the varied requirements of all our customers in an ideal way, we offer UNIVENT Starter with and without manure belt ventilation. UNIVENT Starter consists of two different tiers to satisfy the differing needs of both day-old chicks and pullets:

The combined aviary system for rearing and egg production: developed in cooperation with Claessens-Jenniskens Pluimveebedrijven. The current egg production standard is to separate the rearing and production phases. The new NATURA Life concept, which Big Dutchman developed in close collaboration with the owners of Dutch family farm Claessens-Jenniskens Pluimveebedrijven, provides an option for keeping birds in the same group for their entire lives. No transportation is necessary until the end of the hens’ life cycles. The NATURA Life concept emphasises welfare, health, productivity and sustainability. At the core lies a (cage-free) laying aviary that can be expanded by additional equipment for rearing.

The semi-automatic vaccinator for pullets – one wing and up to four breast injections given simultaneously – With MultiVacc, Big Dutchman has developed a semi-automatic vaccinator which promises easy handling while offering high vaccination accuracy. If required, up to four injections into the breast muscles plus the pox vaccine into the wing can be administered at the same time. This reduces the stress caused by the vaccination process. The birds do not have to be caught and moved several times.

The UNIVENT-Starter rearing system from Big Dutchman is a true bestseller. This wellproven system not only provides excellent rearing results, but is also of a high quality. For its newest generation, UV-S 680-plus, the compartment height has been increased by 40 mm. In warm climates especially, this additional height creates a much better air exchange in all tiers of the system, which ensures pullet uniformity and improves bird welfare. UNIVENT-Starter 680-plus consists of two separate tiers to satisfy the differing needs of day-old chicks and pullets:

The three-level rearing aviary is available in a variety of versions. NATURAPrimus can be supplied in two widths (1600 and 1866 mm). In both widths, the aviary is also available as raised system. The house floor beneath the raised system is used as litter area, i.e. it counts as usable area. In addition to the house width, the height of the barn is thus a crucial factor, especially for existing houses. To achieve the ideal stocking density, the aviary should be selected based on the house dimensions for this reason

The two-level rearing aviary provides pullets with much freedom of movement from the very first day. NATURA Filia is available in two widths (1866 and 2239 mm). The large distance between the aviary levels makes for a very open design. The farm staff are easily able to access both levels. Feed and water are within easy reach for the birds. The special feature of NATURAFilia is its internal intermediate level, located in the back of both tiers.

Using manure belts in poultry houses reduces ammonia emissions and thus contributes to an improved climate in the house and to the birds’ health. Intervals between manure removals should therefore be as short as possible. In the past, however, manure belts had to be constantly monitored during operation, sometimes requiring adjustment by experienced staff. Manure was therefore not removed as often as would be ideal.
