Egg Production - Pullet Rearing: Aviaries for Vital Pullets
Big Dutchman - Two-Level Rearing Aviary
The two-level rearing aviary provides pullets with much freedom of movement from the very first day. NATURA Filia is available in two widths (1866 and 2239 mm). The large distance between the aviary levels makes for a very open design. The farm staff are easily able to access both levels. Feed and water are within easy reach for the birds. The special feature of NATURAFilia is its internal intermediate level, located in the back of both tiers.
Big Dutchman - Automatic Chain Feeding for Modern Poultry Production
Big Dutchman introduced the world‘s first automatic chain feeding system as early as 1938. Daily hand-feeding of the flock was very time-consuming, triggering the idea of an automatic feeder system: A new era dawned for the poultry industry. Thanks to its robust and simple principle, the chain feeding system has proved itself a million times over. The basic concept – feed hopper, drive unit, corner, trough and the CHAMPION feed chain – has remained unchanged. The entire system, however, is continuously being improved and adapted to today’s requirements for modern poultry production. The Big Dutchman feed chain CHAMPION can be used for any type of production, including layer breeders kept in cages, pullets from their first day of life and laying hens. The chain also feeds broiler breeders reared on the floor and is furthermore a great option in alternative egg production.
Big-Dutchman - Starter Rearing System
The UNIVENT-Starter rearing system from Big Dutchman is a true bestseller. This wellproven system not only provides excellent rearing results, but is also of a high quality. For its newest generation, UV-S 680-plus, the compartment height has been increased by 40 mm. In warm climates especially, this additional height creates a much better air exchange in all tiers of the system, which ensures pullet uniformity and improves bird welfare. UNIVENT-Starter 680-plus consists of two separate tiers to satisfy the differing needs of day-old chicks and pullets:
Big-Dutchman - Automatic Manure Belt Adjustment (AMBA) System
Using manure belts in poultry houses reduces ammonia emissions and thus contributes to an improved climate in the house and to the birds’ health. Intervals between manure removals should therefore be as short as possible. In the past, however, manure belts had to be constantly monitored during operation, sometimes requiring adjustment by experienced staff. Manure was therefore not removed as often as would be ideal.
Big Dutchman - Three-Level Rearing Aviary
The three-level rearing aviary is available in a variety of versions. NATURAPrimus can be supplied in two widths (1600 and 1866 mm). In both widths, the aviary is also available as raised system. The house floor beneath the raised system is used as litter area, i.e. it counts as usable area. In addition to the house width, the height of the barn is thus a crucial factor, especially for existing houses. To achieve the ideal stocking density, the aviary should be selected based on the house dimensions for this reason
