Features
If you’ve got the reach, we’ve got the attachment! Fecon’s Severe Duty Bull Hog is by far the strongest built mulching attachment in the industry for the most demanding applications. Heavy Duty Bull Hog models offer excellent durability and lower weight when compared with the Severe Duty models. CEM (Compact Equipment Mulcher) models offer the ideal balance of weight and durability for your excavator and deliver impressive performance on excavators with less power and lifting capacity. For maximum production, many Bull Hog excavator models can be paired up with optional Fecon BHP power packs of 170 – 250 hp.
Fecon offers a free engineering evaluation for your carrier. Contact us for an evaluation today so that we can maximize the performance of your attachment to run off of the power and flow of your excavator mulching head. Choose a Fecon Bull Hog for your 7-45 ton excavator and experience fixed tool durability and performance that gets the job done!
Our Severe Duty line is by far the strongest built Excavator Mulching attachment available, built to withstand the down pressure capabilities of larger excavators. Our heavy duty line provides the same mulching performance as the severe duty line. The CEM36 model can provide fixed tool durability and performance on as small as a 7-ton excavator.
Some other benefits that make a Bull Hog the ideal choice for your excavator are our 3 rotor systems and many cutting tool options — double carbides, chipper knives, stone tools, and single carbides. Fixed tool durability and aggressive counter cutter rake teeth are features that ensure you have the toughest excavator mulcher head made. The Bull Hog is a low maintenance design and we provide optional mounts that mate to your machine.
You have the option to include variable displacement hydraulic motors that optimize rotor speed and torque for maximum production in small or larger material. Fecon also has power pack options from 170 to 250 hp for dedicated power for higher production and fast cutting on larger diameter material.

Applications
Land Clearing
Terrain, density of the vegetation, soil stability, moisture, species to be treated, environmental concerns and obstacles to work around are some of the considerations when choosing the right machine for the application. The successful land-clearing contractor will usually approach the job with a variety of units including tracked or wheeled mulching machines, excavator mulchers and skid steer tractors equipped with mulching attachments as well as other tools to handle the many tasks found on the average land-clearing site.
Seismic Exploration
Seismic exploration on forested land demands performance. “It’s about linear feet or kilometers per day” and requires reliability and horsepower! Fecon machines are purpose built for the unique and challenging set of circumstances for clearing the woody vegetation for seismic exploration.
Forest Wood Fuel Removal
There are many equipment options for ladder fuel and underbrush removal including tracked or wheeled forestry mulching machines, mulching attachments and tree shears. Forestry mulchers are a tool to consider for mulching fire lines. And after the fire is out and clean up efforts are under way, it is important to ensure minimal water pollution and soil erosion.
Removal of Invasive Species
Fecon forestry equipment can be highly effective when used to remove invasive species. Plant diseases, Beetle-killed trees and invasive species of plants can all pose significant threats to native vegetation, water supplies, and wildlife habitats, and could lead to a potential wildfire.
Wetland and Habitat Construction
Maintaining an effective animal habitat encompasses: food, water, shelter, and space. This is where the forestry mulchers and forestry mowers can help. Forestry mulchers and forestry mowers are great tools for removing underbrush and invasive species. Also, water sources can be obstructed from access or become stagnant due to tree and understory growth. Excavator mulchers and tree shears are excellent for managing or removing trees and underbrush.
Right of Way Clearing
Selecting the compact tractor or the large mulching tractor can be determined by first looking at the type of work to be done and the type of terrain most commonly found in the area you’re working. Proper selection of attachments and undercarriage options can prove to be very profitable decisions for any type of right-of-way clearing machines.
Vegetation Clearing
Maintaining right-of-way for roads, highways, power lines, communication lines, and other utilities has its share of challenges. The demands of the job the difficulty of the terrain, finish, and maintenance requirements, will determine the equipment selected for the job. Proper selection of attachments and undercarriage options can prove to be very profitable decisions for any type of right-of-way clearing machines.
Silviculture
Silviculture is the process of maintaining and improving forests. Many operators wish to mulch logging slash or standing vegetation and trees to prepare land for reforestation. One can use milling attachments of varying widths and power classes to reduce and incorporate slash and mulched material into established planting berms, or for establishing ideal planting conditions in between thinned forest stands.
