Flowercare - Carnation Dianthus
Carnations are very sensitive to ethylene, which can cause major damage, like shrunken flowers, incomplete flowering and a short vase life. Ethylene is a volatile hormone, produced by the flower itself in order to regulate flowering. Ethylene in the surroundings of the flower, i.e. from exhaust gases. mature fruits or other flowers (e.q. airfreight transport together with roses) can also negatively influence the flower, since an excess of ethylene is the origin of the mentioned effects. These negative effects can be easily avoided by means of a post-harvest treatment with Flowercare carnation.
