Titanium sheet and plate are defined with the only difference of sizes. All these products are made from titanium slabs by cold rolling or hot rolling. ASTM B265 is the most common used standard. We can also supply materials as per AMS 4911, ASTM F136 etc. Annealed materials can be furnished as descaled and sandblasted on your request.We have a rich stock of these products in CP and 6Al4V alloy, and they can be cut to any custom sizes at reasonable charge. With the booming and developing of titanium industry, new technology is necessary to reduce costs of material and processing. As reported, more than 20 programs are under research and developing in the world, including cost reducing of manufacturing titanium sponge, titanium and its alloy.
ITP is trying to make further improving of ArmstrongProcess, and carry out experiments for commercial application. This technique is to jet TiCl4 steam into natrium stream and pure titanium will be generated after reactions. Mixed Chlorides steam can be used to generate titanium alloy powder. Properties of titanium powder produced by this technique has exceeded ASTMCP1.
Titanium companies are always interested in reducing cost increasing out put and make titanium products from titanium powder. The latest technology is to improve properties by using shydrogenated titanium powder. AG company said they are developing a new technology of producing titanium material by shydrogenated titanium sponge. The manufactured powder by this way is of high quality, stability and theoretical density.
Plymouth company introduced a new technology of extrusion and rotary perforation. This can reduce materials and process steps, so that the cost is lower down. RTI has applied this technique, and manufactured large, complicated formed titanium products. The cross-section of formed products can be 1 inch wide, 17 inch high and 450inch long.
Positive direction extrusion and oppositie direction extrusion of titanium material is the same as Aluminum materials. Positive derection extrusion is to move material, and opposite direction extrusion is to move mould. Positive derection extrusion is apt to large cross-section and complicated shape titanium materials, but opposite direction extrusion is apt to materials of strict tolerence precision surface.
