Pennsylvania farmer wins all he can mow for a year
PELLA, Iowa -- Bradley Swinsinski went to the National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS) in February with a mind to check out some new mower conditioners, but he certainly never thought he’d leave Louisville having won the use of one. By completing the VERMEER EXPERIENCE at the Vermeer Corporation booth, the 24-year-old farmer from Bernville, Pa., was entered into a drawing for the use of a new Vermeer MC3700 mower conditioner for an entire year. Sure enough, he won.
“I was really surprised. I didn’t think I was going to win. Then I get a phone call last month and I was so excited andhappy,” said Swinsinski, a third-generation farmer who bales 500 acres of grass hay, most of which goes to feed their 250 cows. “We were having problems with our current mower conditioner we use and were going to try a new mower this year. Then we find out we ended up winning one for a season to try. We’re really excited to try it out here in Pennsylvania and see how it conditions alfalfa and orchard grass.”
Farm Industry News named the new line of Vermeer mower conditioners a top FinOvation of 2015. The MC-series mower conditioners combine productivity, flexibility and convenience into one high-performance package, giving operators more control and mowing consistency, while providing improved accessibility to internal components for ease of maintenance.
Swinsinski said he and his dealer, Triple H Equipment, Inc. in Peach Bottom, Pa., are interested to see the performance of the nitrogen-charged accumulator suspension system, which provides enhanced flotation and ground-hugging control. Swinsinski is scheduled to take delivery of the MC3700 this spring and will have a full calendar year to mow all he can.
