Sand Filtration
From Filtration
Using sand is one of the oldest methods of water filtration; it has been used for thousands of years ranging right the way back to the time of the Romans. Based on this and the fact that Sand Filters are still one of the most commonly used and effective forms of filtration today, I think it is safe to say that it will always be a good choice.

Sand Filters give deep filtration and are especial...
Sand Filters give deep filtration and are especially good when irrigating vast areas where a large amount of water is going to be required. Our Sand Filters come in a wide range of sizes, ranging from 10 microns all the way up to 2000 microns. 125 micron is the most commonly used size within irrigation, removing all particles from the water above 125 microns this is more than enough for almost all types of irrigation systems. The filter will be filled 60% with sand; the other 40% is empty to allow the water in.
Our Sand Filters have automatic bachflushing, therefore when the filter is becoming blocked or the pressure differential within the filter gets too high a backflush will automatically occur. During a backflush the Sand Filter will temporarily stop working. In order to over come this and maintain continuous filtration it is recommended that you use a twin Sand Filter. Therefore when the first filter goes into a back flush the second filter will automatically begin filtration ensuring continuous filtration is maintained and vice versa when the second sand filter goes into back flush.
