Seasonal Workshops in Climate Control Training

A perfect balance of all climate factors, such as light, temperature, humidity and CO2, is of vital importance across all of the seasons in order to achieve optimal growth for your crops; and preferably against the lowest possible energy use. The seasonal Climate Management workshops deal with the newest physical and plant physiological insights as well as the practical uses of the climate computer. This course will teach you how to achieve an idea growth climate in a more energy efficient way.

Who is it for?
This series of 4 workshops is designed for users of a Hoogendoorn climate computer who have already attended the climate control Master class or who have already participated in one of the ‘New Cultivation’ study groups.

Seasonal themes
The basis of climate management is the creation of a balance of energy and moisture in the greenhouse in relation to the ideal growth climate for the plant. The programme is matched to the seasons and each has a central theme. In the autumn that theme is moisture, in winter it’s heat, in spring it’s irrigation and in summer it’s ventilation.

In these growth-focused workshops it is plant physiology that is key and the greenhouse climate is approached from the perspective of natural principles of energy and moisture balance in the greenhouse. This growth-focused workshop has been developed to translate the most up to date natural and plant physiological insights into climate regulation. You will be taught how to apply the principles of ‘New Cultivation’ to the day-today practice of process control and you will also be given the necessary background information about the respective regulations. Using your own practical examples, the newest insights will be directly applied to the innovative regulations of the Hoogendoorn climate computer.

Course leaders
The workshops will be lead by researcher/ consultant Jan Voogt and climate advisor René Beerkens.
